CANCELED – Hoy Field Trip: Gulls on the Racine Lakefront

CANCELED DUE TO EXTENSIVE ICE COVER NEAR SHORE AND WITHIN HARBORS

We’ll begin at Myers Park then make our way northward to the
Racine Harbor. The field trip end time will depend on bird activity and/or weather conditions but will generally conclude no later than 12:00 PM.

Along the lake we’ll be looking for waterfowl as well as various gull species.

It’s winter and is usually cold and windy at the lakeshore, so dress for the weather (a warm jacket, a hat, and gloves) and wear sturdy walking shoes. Bring your bird book, binoculars, and a spotting scope if you have one (don’t worry if you don’t!).

Note: Due to COVID-19, if you attend our field trips, we ask that you wear a mask, and please bring your own water, snacks, and optics (binoculars and spotting scopes) to help minimize contact.
