Chiwaukee Prairie Bird Walk

We will meet along the roadside just north of 121st Street and 2nd Avenue. Please refrain from parking along 121st Street but rather park along the west side of 2nd Avenue.

Meet by 7:00 P.M. at parking area. We’ll walk a portion of the trails and then await to hear the “peents” and view the aerial dances of the twittering “Timberdoodle”, the American Woodcock, at twilight. Wilson’s Snipe may also be ‘winnowing’ in flight.

The American Woodcock may begin call just after 7:45 P.M. (depending if skies are overcast or clear) and will conclude sometime between 8 and 8:30 P.M.

Recommendations: Wear waterproof boots, dress warmly, and bring a flashlight.
